The New VOVE
The 2022-2023 school year has seen many changes from past years. In the last few months the student-run team has revamped the logo, the social media, and the website of VOVE to reflect a modernized brand and image. But perhaps the biggest change to VOVE in this incarnation is the introduction of songwriting camps, which begs the question - what is a songwriting camp?
A songwriting camp is a session where multiple songwriters are placed in a room together in order to write music. They usually feature small groups of artists in multiple rooms and are intended to build the catalogs of songs for artists, publishing companies, or record labels.
Over the last month, VOVE has hosted two songwriting camps where talented artists worked with a professional production team in the recording studio on campus at CSUN. The music from these camps will be recorded by Augie Ray’s team at Hype Studios LA in January, and compiled into a compilation album at the end of the spring semester. Pictures from the songwriting camps are featured below.
While enrollment in these camps is currently closed, we are so excited to share the fruits of our labors in a live showcase on December 5th in the CSUN Cypress Recital Hall. This event will feature multiple performances of original music as well as free food, and is a night you don’t want to miss.
