The Drop leaves behind massive shockwaves, Madus heads to the studio; By Nigel Hamblin

The Drop was a success! (Did you hear that ok!?) Madus took the Cypress Recital Hall by storm in their Five of Five debut, putting the room’s acoustics to the ultimate test. Around 100 patrons attended and were treated to free Madus merchandise and a free taco truck afterwards.

Madus frontman Dugan Cruz shared some of his thoughts about the eventful night; discussing future plans with VOVE the following day: “It was awesome. It was invigorating; exciting. It was really fun.” Dugan went onto disclose Madus’ plans over the winter break. “There’s no shows right now. Just writing.” he continued. “We have this great opportunity with VOVE to go record for almost two weeks, and we don’t want to mess it up.”

Madus has special plans in store for their VOVE studio sessions, and are eager to release exclusive new material. “We have like, five or six songs that are pretty good and done.” He went on to emphasize the kind of material Madus was bringing to the table. “Anything we’re going to do with VOVE in January is stuff that we never play. With VOVE it’s just going to be a completely new set of things. So that’s exciting.”

Be sure to stay tuned to hear more buzz surrounding Madus’ studio time with VOVE this winter, and a big thank you to all who made The Drop a special night!
